Windows and Doors for Certified Built Green® Platinum Homes

Built Green Canada is a voluntary industry-driven non-profit organization that supports and recognizes responsible sustainable practices in the residential building sector. Since its inception in 2003, Built Green Canada has worked with builders to certify over 38,000 projects across Canada.

BUILT GREEN® certified homes meet the required criteria from seven categories: energy performance, materials and method, indoor air quality, ventilation, waste management, water conservation, and business practices. Builders earn points towards each category to achieve one of four levels of certification: bronze, silver, gold and platinum.

Energy-efficient windows and doors contribute to Built Green points in two ways. The first is by helping to achieve a higher EnerGuide rating for builders who choose to model the performance of their project with the EnerGuide Rating System. The second is by earning points for installing ENERGY STAR labelled windows and doors that either meet or exceed (more points!) the project’s climate zone.

Over the years, Innotech has manufactured windows and doors for many distinguished BUILT GREEN® certified homes in British Columbia and Alberta. Here are three of our favourite BUILT GREEN® Platinum certified homes:

Built in 2019 by Effect Home Builders, this minimalist contemporary home in Edmonton Alberta is BUILT GREEN® Platinum certified. The 3,520 square foot home is highly energy-efficient. It achieved a 0.67 air changes per hour (ACH) and as a result uses 68% less energy than a code-built home. + Click here to learn more about its energy-efficiency features and to see more photos
