Window and Door Installation with Pioneer Builders
It’s always a great day when it’s time to install high-performance windows and doors!
Mike Cairns, business development manager at Innotech Windows + Doors, was on-site at a custom spec home in Allyn, Washington with Bryan Uhler and Tim Uhler. Bryan and Tim, owners of Pioneer Builders, The Build Show Network experts and Instagram stars, are long-time builders who are both committed to building comfortable and durable homes for their clients. And with the advent of higher energy-code requirements in Washington, it’s only logical that the next step in their pursuit of better built homes was triple glazed, high-performance windows and doors.
As with any building material, it’s always important to take the time to learn how each product needs to be installed. While the basics (plumb, level and square) of window installation apply to all windows, there are some small differences between installing our windows compared to typical vinyl windows. Bryan and Tim were both generous with their time as Mike demonstrated how to install an Innotech window. Anchoring Method for Window Installation
One of the main installation differences discussed in the video is the use of strap anchors to attach the window to the structure. There are many benefits to using the anchoring method instead of the traditional nail flange method, including greater structural strength, improved wind load resistance, installation flexibility, and long-term durability.
