Green Dream Home
The Green Dream Home in Kamloops, British Columbia, is one of the winning entries in the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) EQuilibrium™ Sustainable Housing Demonstration Initiative. Innotech Windows + Doors is proud to have been selected to provide the Green Dream Home with two Terrace Swing Doors – one for the master bedroom and the other for the dining room.
The Green Dream Home is an exciting project that highlights various green building practices. The objectives were to design and build a home that features a healthy indoor environment, energy efficient products, low environmental impact, significant resource conservation, and affordability considerations. The home is also a near net zero home, which means the home will produce nearly as much energy as it consumes.
Innotech Terrace Swing Doors are a great fit for the Green Dream Home. The hybrid steel and unplasticized PVC doors are ENERGY STAR® qualified for Zone B in Canada. In addition to being very energy efficient, they also exceed requirements for water, air and sound penetration. These features contribute to a healthier indoor environment (consistent indoor temperature, draft free and quiet) and a lower environmental footprint (made with recycled material and less energy required to cool and heat the home).
