House & Home Magazine Features Innotech Project

text:
House & Home, Canada's leading design and interior design magazine, featured an Innotech-supplied project in their July issue. The fabulous home is located in Langdale on BC's beautiful Sunshine Coast and features stunning views of the Pacific ocean. While the home's proximity to the water makes for amazing seaside viewing, the harsh salt environment can do terrible things to traditional windows and doors. Innotech windows and doors, with their corrosion resistant engineering and materials, were the perfect choice to ensure those spectacular views will be enjoyed for years to come. Pick up a copy of House & Home on newsstands before they're all gone!

Innotech-Supplied Project Wins Prestigious Vanguard Award

text:
June was a very busy month for the Innotech-supplied housing project Gray's Landing. Not only was the LEED-certified development a finalist for a DJC Top Project Award, but it also received a coveted Vanguard Award from the National Affordable Housing Management Association. NAHMA’s Vanguard Awards recognize the best and most innovative new affordable housing developments, and promotes the viability of affordable housing projects across the United States. Completed in November 2012, Gray's Landing is a four storey, 209-unit apartment complex built on the principles of energy efficiency and affordable living. This project is a notable one for Innotech as it was the first to utilize our extrusion painted on the exterior. Special congrats to Ankrom Moisan Architects along with the rest of the development team for their inspired work on this project.   Photo courtesy of Ankrom Moisan + Read more about Gray's Landing on Ankrom Moisan's website+ Read the Vanguard Award citation on NAHMA's website

Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA) Patient Housing was recently featured in GB&D Magazine. The project's lead architect, Scott Carr, defines the LEED Gold registered project as follows: "The building is meticulously detailed to withstand the tests of time," says Carr. "Sustainability begins with designing durable buildings that are capable of lasting 75-100 years." SCCA features a high-performance thermal envelope that meets Architecture 2030 Challenge requirements. Innotech Tilt + Turn Windows are featured throughout the project. + Read the GB&D Magazine article here+ Read the SCCA project profile here

LEED® Platinum: Bagley Nature Classroom

text:
The LEED® Platinum Certified Bagley Classroom was recently featured in GreenSource Magazine. Featuring triple glazed Innotech Tilt + Turn Windows, the project in Duluth Minnesota is also awaiting Passive House recognition.    Students at the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) are fortunate to have access to Bagley Nature Area, a 55-acre parcel of land on the northwest portion of the campus that includes a pond, forest, ski and hiking trails, and open space. But while conducting research, observing wildlife, or absorbing the scenery, the students had no home base. To remedy this dilemma, the university commissioned local firm Salmela Architect to design a small LEED Platinum-certified classroom space on an existing clearing (an unused volleyball court). It was the team who decided to up the ante and simultaneously try for Passive House certification and net-zero energy. “We went for everything,” says David Salmela, FAIA. “Energy-oriented buildings tend to be driven by the technology rather than the architecture. What we wanted to do was combine all of those things together.” + Read the full article here

Innotech Featured in BC Home Magazine

text:
The PNE Prize Home is featured in this month's issue of BC Home Magazine entitled 'The Designer Issue'.  Every photo of the beautiful 2010 PNE Prize Home features either an Innotech window, an Innotech door or both. The designers made sure to immerse every room in the home with natural light - from the beautiful great room to the practical laundry room. The large expanses of glass throughout the home also maximize the breathtaking Okanagan views. And with so many windows and doors, it was important to select energy efficient windows and doors to make sure the performance of the home wasn't affected.   + Read the article in BC Home Magazine (page 35 + 36)

CTV News Praises Tilt + Turn Operation

text:
CTV's Chris Olsen takes a behind the scenes tour of the PNE Prize Home. He praises the easy to use Tilt + Turn operation that combines efficiency, ventilation and security:  "The windows combine efficiency with flexibility and security. If you twist the lever half way up, they swing open wide. Twist it another quarter of a turn and they open from the top, letting air in but not burglars. Pull the lever all the way down and the windows are securely locked." - Chris Olsen, CTVBC News + Read CTV's full article+ View video of the PNE Prize Home, which features a short demo of the Tilt + Turn operation
